EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Community center members have a new membership option. On Jan. 19, the City Council approved a yearly membership fee schedule that covers 11 months, with the 12th month free. The center’s other membership plans include monthly fee schedules and insurance- or employer-sponsored plans, its website states. “We have worked with our advisory group to do incentives in regard to not just the loss of members through the pandemic but also a commitment for a long-term person that would be willing to commit to a year,” center Director Jesse Hall told city leaders during the council’s Zoom meeting. “And with that, we found, naturally, that a discount incentive is most appropriate.” Per the ordinance the council approved, the fee schedule ranges from $275 for ages 13-19 to $715 for an annual family membership.
