EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – New management is coming to the Excelsior Springs Golf Course, which city leaders praised but some people criticized. Although a regular City Council meeting was slated for this week, a “special” meeting took place Jan. 14 to finalize the agreement for two reasons, City Manager Molly McGovern stated Jan. 15 in an email. One reason was timing. “The golf season will be starting in March, (so) the sooner Orion can get started with the transition the sooner they will be ready,” McGovern stated. “They will be training on their operating protocols.
