COLUMBIA – The only time Gov. Mike Parson and state Auditor Nicole Galloway have appeared, or will appear, in a political forum focused on the Nov. 3 governor’s race took place Oct. 9 at the Missouri Theatre in Columbia. “We’ve challenged Governor Parson to four debates, and unfortunately, he’s refused to engage in any additional forums at this time,” Galloway spokesman Jerrell Harvey said Oct. 16. Galloway, a Democrat; and Parson, a Republican, exchanged sharply different perspectives at the forum on the dominant issue of the political campaign – the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hosted by the Missouri Press Association, the forum also included Green Party candidate Jerome Bauer and Libertarian Rik Combs.
