EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Tommy Carroll said he had sold an area landmark, Dari B, at Missouri Highway 10 near the border of Clay and Ray counties. Carroll said he had sold the ice cream stand to Jon Saura, his brother-in-law’s brother. “It is still in the family,” Carroll said. “He’s really wanting to do a good job and so he’s going to keep everything the same.” Carroll said he would stay on for a while to help Saura learn more about what Dari B has done to continue to serve the community for more than 65 years. “Whatever it takes to get it done,” Carroll said. “I know my wife wants me home, but this is my ‘man cave number two.’” Although not retiring entirely, Carroll said he plans to relax more. “Right now, I’m sleeping in and I’m a collector, so I may do something with my collections,” he said.
