DEP given reins to Lithia’s Landing

The City of Excelsior Springs Councilmembers recently approved a partnership with Downtown Excelsior Partnership (DEP), allowing progress to continue at Lithia’s Landing. DEP has been approved by the council to manage the property. “There has been ongoing discussion about the construction of a deck on city property at 243 East Broadway,” said Excelsior Springs City Manager Molly McGovern. “DEP continues to move forward to accomplish the project and staff has developed an agreement for council consideration to grant DEP an exclusive license to improve, manage and program the property to be known as Lithia’s Landing as a pocket park.” Under the agreement, DEP is granted the right to install various fixtures and equipment in the downtown pocket park, such as decking, tables, chairs, benches, umbrellas and lighting.
