DESE launches program to ‘Close the Gap’ for eligible students
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and Odyssey recently announced the launch of the Missouri Close the Gap Grant program.
Odyssey, a platform helping states connect to families in order to help find funding for education expenses in partnership with DESE and is offering families with students who reside in Missouri a one-time grant of up to $1,500 for education costs.
According to the press release, an eligible students must be a Missouri resident and be enrolled in a public or charter school. Per the state statute, funds will be prioritized for those families with income below 185% of the federal poverty level.
