A new kind of taxi service has entered the Excelsior Springs area. K&B D.D. is a “designated driver” taxi for those who need a ride to and from bars in the Excelsior Springs area. Kerri Allen and Bret Grass opened the business for those who need to get home safely. “We are mainly a small taxi service based in Excelsior Springs for when you don’t want to drive to and from a bar,” stated the pair. “We are hoping our business brings about change in how many people drink and drive. We’ve all known someone affected from it (drunk driving),” said Grass. Grass recalled how he and Allen found it hard to find a ride here versus in big cities. “We’ve noticed how it’s very hard to get an Uber from these smaller towns. Our small business reaches to Lawson, Excelsior, Kearney and Liberty,” said Grass. “We hope to one day expand, but at the moment, we are a small, onevehicle, seating-three-people- max operation,” said Grass.
