CRYSTAL LAKES – After allegedly stealing a vehicle and playing “demolition derby” with two Excelsior Springs Police Department vehicles, being knocked off the highway and overturning, and then trying to escape on foot, twice, Bobbie Marie Bauman, 37, Excelsior Springs, is in the Ray County Jail. Bauman faces four felony and four misdemeanor charges after the incident that started around 4:15 a.m. Aug. 20. Excelsior Springs Police Department Lt. Larry Tarrant said officers tried to stop Bauman several times. Police spotted her on Highway 10 at Sycamore Street driving a Chevy Blazer suspected of being stolen on the city’s south side. “The driver was acting real erratic,” Tarrant said. “The vehicle was stopping in the middle of the road.
