LIBERTY – Serving Ray, Clay and Platte counties, the Northland Coalition – with the support of Tri-County Mental Health Services – has partnered with the DEA, other law enforcement agencies and communities across the country to encourage the responsible disposal of prescription drugs.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 24 is designated to remind anyone who uses prescription drugs to keep them carefully stored and to safely dispose of any that are no longer needed. Prescription drugs, if not disposed of properly, can be abused.

In this area, the drop-off sites are...

• Excelsior Springs Police Department lobby, 301 S. Main St., Excelsior Springs. The facility is open all day every day.

• Richmond Police Department, 205 Summit St., Richmond. Drop-off hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Lawson Police Department lobby, 103 W. Third St., Lawson. Drop-off hours are are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
