The Hall of Waters was filled with Excelsior Springs citizens as rezoning of the potential Eden Village failed. At the latest city council meeting, Planning Consultant Doug Hermes presented a consideration for an ordinance to rezone 1112 Tracy Avenue from a C-3 service business district to an R-4 medium-density residential district. “The purpose of the rezone is for the applicant to propose an Eden Village gated duplex community offering a living environment for those who have been classified as chronically homeless and disabled,” said Hermes. “The planning commission held a public hearing to consider this request and it was well attended with some in favor of the application and some with opposition over concerns.
