ES armed burglary suspect pleads not guilty

A Kansas City man facing three felony charges has entered a plea of not guilty in Clay County Court. Javon T. Baker is facing charges including first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. During an arraignment hearing before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Karen L. Krauser, Baker entered a plea of not guilty. Judge Krauser advised him to submit an application for public defender services immediately and ordered him to appear on time for all court dates. Baker also appeared for a bond reduction hearing this week, but information was not made available as of press time. Last week, the Excelsior Springs Police Department (ESPD) was dispatched to Heartland Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram in Excelsior Springs on a report of an armed robbery.
