The second annual community center fall festival will be held on Saturday, from 6 to 8 p.m., coordinated by Youth and Family Coordinator Kyria Hood. Hood, who has been the youth and family coordinator for the past year and a half at the community center, said she is looking forward to seeing members of the community of all ages coming together to have an enjoyable time partaking in a plethora of activities, including trunk-ortreat, yard games and face painting. Hood explained that the activities will be free, and each Excelsior Springs Parks and Recreation staff member at the event will be dressed up representing each park and recreation department. She said she also encourages those in attendance to wear a Halloween costume to celebrate the holiday with those who chose to come to spend the day with other community members.
