An Excelsior Springs man has been found guilty by a jury of his peers on two felony charges. Ronald D. Lana Jr., 45, was found guilty of two felony charges of third-degree assault and armed criminal action on April 4. This was despite Lana’s public defender, Kevin Garrison, previously telling The Standard, “Mr. Lana maintains he is not guilty, and we can’t wait to show that in court.” A date for sentencing has not been set as of press time. The possible range of punishment for third-degree assault is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for a term not less than one year, a maximum of four years, and fines up to $10,000. The range of punishment for the first offense armed criminal action charge is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for a term not less than three years without eligibility for parole, probation, conditional release, or suspended imposition or execution of sentence for a period of three calendar years…
