ES welcomes swim team, enters into agreement with UHMC

Excelsior Springs City Council has entered into a rental agreement with a recreational swim team for use of the Excelsior Springs Community Center pool. Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Center Nate Williams explained the details of the rental agreement with Purple Wave Swim Team (PWST). The summer league team has been competing in the Northland Conference since 1998. “This team is out of Kearney, but they have open enrollment,” stated Williams. “That can allow Excelsior Springs area kids to join a swim team if they are interested.” Head Coach Reagan Bonderer and Assistant Coach Adam Hoffman lead the team. Children ages six through 18 are accepted, but all swimmers must be able to swim the pool length, 25 meters, unassisted before joining the team. “Swim meets are arranged by strokes and ages,” states PWST. “Swimmers can compete in three individual events and two relay events, but all relays are selected by the coaches and are based on entry times.” Participating in…
