ESHS homecoming set for next Friday, Oct. 11

Excelsior Springs will be black and gold all over next week, as Spirit Week builds into Excelsior Springs High School’s annual Homecoming celebration.

Tiger fans will be looking forward to the Homecoming Parade, which will start at 3 p.m. Friday in downtown Excelsior Springs.

According to Police Chief John McGovern, the parade route will be identical to the route used last year. Parade entrants will assembly on N. Marietta and Kennedy streets, then proceed north on Marietta to turn east on Excelsior Street. At Penn Street, the procession will turn south and go to Broadway, then turn west and continue on down to Thompson Avenue, where the parade route will turn south and continue on to Concourse Avenue, turning westward and wrapping up at Concourse and Kansas City Avenue.

Watch The Standard next week for a map of the parade route.

Spirit week themes are: Monday, PJ Day; Tuesday, Class Color Day; Wednesday, Twin Day; Thursday, Tourist Day; Friday, Black and Gold Day. Friday’s football game starts at 7 p.m.
