Excelsior driver involved in 2-vehicle collision

October 1, 2018—An Excelsior Springs driver was involved in a 2-vehicle collision on Friday, Sept. 28 in Clay County at Interstate 29 and Vivion Road.

According to preliminary Online Traffic Crash Report details supplied by Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 8:20 p.m. as a 1997 Mercury driven by Angelia C. Ojeda, of Kansas City, Kansas, traveled off the ramp to Vivion and continued to cross the ramp from Vivion to southbound Interstate 29. The Mercury traveled into the path of a 2014 Chevrolet driven by James D. Harris of Excelsior Springs, and the Chevrolet struck the Ojeda vehicle in the rear passenger side.

Medical officials transported two occupants in the Ojeda vehicle to North Kansas City Hospital with minor injuries. The report notes Leslie Becera and Christian G. Long, both of Kansas City, Kansas, wore safety devices, as were both drivers.
