Excelsior Springs leaders have approved the city’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year, authorizing spending and revenue plans for every department and fund from Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026.The adoption of Ordinance No. 25-09-08 provides the financial framework for the upcoming fiscal year, with allocations set for the general fund, enterprise operations, special districts, tax increment financing accounts, bond repayments and dedicated sales taxes.City Manager Molly Mc-Governnoted the budget is built around five council priorities: fiscal responsibility, responsible growth, protecting heritage, visionary leadership and the motto “do good, be fair.”General fund highlights included an 11% increase in property values for 2025, paired with 2.9% inflation, leading the city to anticipate lowering the tax rate.
