EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – An Excelsior Springs resident died in a wreck that totaled three vehicles.

Richard A. Dobbins, 30, Excelsior Springs, died during the collision that occurred about 10:12 a.m. Monday at U.S. Highway 69 at North Jesse James Road, the Missouri Highway Patrol reported.

The report states Dobbins, driving a 2000 Dodge, failed to yield at a lighted intersection. His vehicle struck the passenger side of a 2012 Nissan driven by Michael P. Neary, 32, Lawson. The Nissan, in turn, struck the front of a 2019 Chevrolet driven by Jon W. Webber, 54, Cameron.

During the collision, the Dodge overturned into a ditch, ejecting Dobbins, who did not wear a seat belt, the patrol reported.

Webber, who wore a seat belt, sustained minor injuries.

The patrol did not list injuries for Neary.

Paramedic Scott Guthrie pronounced Dobbins dead at the scene at 10:19 a.m.
