Farabee surprises ES residents with chalk art

Robbie Farabee likes giving surprises. Specifically, the 27-year-old likes surprising Excelsior Springs residents with his chalk art around town, including on Broadway and even around Lewis Elementary. The inspiration to create chalk art occurred one evening while walking along Broadway. Farabee noticed a business had chalk outside for pedestrians to use, he said. A friend gifted Farabee a large container of chalk. Farabee used it to its fullest potential. Posting pictures of his work on Facebook, he noticed he was gaining the attention of many area people, he said. “I’ve done all kinds of drawings – drawings based on my walks. Whenever I have free time and am ready to chill, I like to sit down and draw a little bit,” said Farabee, who works for the Town & Country Leader and the after-school program the Rockin’ Tiger Club.
