Former ES resident found guilty of two felonies

A former Excelsior Springs resident has been found guilty by a jury of his peers in Clay County court on two felony charges. On March 21, Patrick L. Pulse, 34, was found guilty of first-degree assault and armed criminal action for shooting his Lyft driver in October of 2017. Clay County Assistant Prosecutors Robert Sanders and Angela Ravkin represented the state during the four-day trial. “The victim in this case should not have been subject to gunfire and is lucky to be alive,” said Sanders. “We were not here relying on luck. We relied on the citizens of Clay County to ensure justice.” Clay County Prosecutor Zachary Thompson believes the jury sent a strong message that Clay County citizens will not stand for senseless acts of violence.
