Gatsby Day returns April 30
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs Cultural Guild’s Annual Gatsby Day Festival to raise scholarship funds returns from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 30.
Prior to COVID, the event had been for two days, then no days in 2020, and last year returned for one day, May 1. The single-day event continues this year.
“Gatsby Day is a celebration that explores the culture and history of the early 20th century with live music, original poetry, art, vintage cars and fashions. The annual festival is named for F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel ‘The Great Gatsby,’ a famous story of the gilded age of the 1920s,” Excelsior Springs Cultural Guild information states.
Talent show auditions are open to everyone. Auditions begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Apartments in downtown Excelsior Springs.
