The long-awaited trial of an Excelsior Springs man accused of murder, rape and other felonies has been pushed back nearly a year from its original setting of Dec. 1, 2025.Timothy M. Haslett Jr. is charged with 10 felonies of first-degree murder, first-degree rape or attempted rape, aggravated sexual offense; four counts of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, aggravated sexual offense; first-degree kidnapping; two counts of second degree assault; and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, creating substantial risk, first offense, no sexual conduct.With his public defender, Tiffany M. Leuty Winningham, Haslett recently appeared before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge David P. Chamberlain, who scheduled the jury trial to begin at 9 a.m. Oct. 26, 2026.
