The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) Household Hazardous Waste Event is scheduled for Oct. 8 in Excelsior Springs. Excelsior Springs will host this event at the public works facility, located at 103 E. Water St. Richmond and Lawson residents are encouraged to participate. Residents may take unwanted products such as automotive products, antifreeze, batteries, CFL light bulbs, fertilizers, flammables, fuels, hazardous cleaners, hazardous liquids, household cleaners, lawn and garden products, paint, pesticides, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, solvents, thinners and used oil to the Excelsior location Oct. 8 for disposal. Business waste is not accepted. The program does not accept electronics, explosives, yard waste, commercial waste, pressurized gas cylinders, controlled substances, tires and appliances.
