Hospital moves into 21st century with updated software
The new Oracle Cerner and Multi-view operating systems are up and running at the Excelsior Springs Hospital. Board members gathered to discuss the recent changes at a routine meeting.
Oracle Cerner, an integrated technology company, offers the ES hospital a new platform of cloud technology, applications, databases, storage and servers to enhance the previously used predated system.
“Cerner went live as of Aug. 28,” said Kristen DeHart, chief executive officer. “Overall, we are doing well with the process, and our team can document more accurately.”
She explained that hospital staff are on track to implement the new technology successfully, and the new systems in place have already impacted the efficiency of the hospital’s daily operations.
In addition to the new system in place, she noted the hospital’s new accounting system was implemented July 1. Called multi-view, the new system handles accounting and financial functions for the hospital.
