Hospital program addresses heat safety, advance directives
As summer temperatures climb, Excelsior Springs Hospital is encouraging residents to take steps to protect their health through prevention, preparation and education.
Excelsior Springs Hospital’s July Health and Wellness series will include a program on preventing heat illness and dehydration on July 10, followed by a session on advance directives and Medical Durable Powers of Attorney on July 29. Both programs begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Excelsior Springs Community Center and registration is required by visiting eshospital.org/events.
Clinical and Community Educator Tina Cook said the educational sessions are designed to provide practical information to help residents protect their health and prepare for situations before they become emergencies.
The July 10 program will focus on recognizing warning signs, identifying those most at risk and sharing practical strategies to prevent heat illness and dehydration while staying safe during the summer months.
