Martin lists benefits of legalizing recreational cannabis
If Missourians approve recreational marijuana, it’ll affect dispensaries like the Kansas City Cannabis Co. – and workers in the cannabis industry like Corey Martin.
Kansas City Cannabis offers medical marijuana at several dispensaries around the Kansas City metro area, including at 149 Crown Hill Road in Excelsior Springs. Martin serves as chief of staff and is considered the human resource officer. In addition, he runs the social media accounts and is involved in project management, advertising and special events.
Martin has been in the cannabis industry for a little more than a year, he said. He entered the business after retiring from the Missouri National Guard last year following 20 years in the U.S. Army.
“As a combat veteran, I am able to relate and connect with other veterans that are looking for relief from aches, pains and … the mental toll that military life can have on a person,” Martin said.
