Master Gardeners teach the community
Summer is a time for obtaining gardening success, and Missouri University (MU) extension, in partnership with Watkins Mill State Historic Site, offers a program that can help.
The MU Agriculture Extension has established an online master gardening class paired with real hands-on experience at Watkins Woolen Mill State Historic Site.
Residents and those in the surrounding communities can get involved and learn the ins and outs of gardening without driving to a large university or taking college-level classes.

mentioned the program at Watkins Mill State Historic Site started in 2004 and comprised a Victorian- style garden paying tribute to the Watkins Mill historic farmhouse built in the 1880s.
“There are not any hybrid plants or new varieties of vegetation growing here,” said Karr. “The garden is the remaining living history of the Watkins Mill farmhouse.”
