Meet the Need and Opportunity Café Director Valerie Hoffecker and Dana Holt, special programs team lead, recently came to the Excelsior Springs Community Center searching for those who want to give back this holiday season to working families within the community. Holt detailed the various programs offered by Meet the Need - including its Back to School and Christmas store, as well as its sports program - all of which are designed for parents and children to shop free of charge, allowing them to select and receive items they may need for their families. Holt said that every year, they help nearly 200 children, with over 25% of them being teen-agers. For this holiday season, Meet the Need is asking for people in the community to help serve those children and their families by donating desirable gifts for teens.
