Organizations work to meet student needs
Synergy Services was on hand to discuss its trauma programs for Excelsior Springs students at the monthly Substance Abuse Free Environment (SAFE) coalition. Synergy initiatives for local youth and families help heal trauma, build resilience and strengthen communities through school-based integrated services (SBIS).
Synergy’s SBIS was established in partnership with Tri-County Mental Health through the Clay County Children’s Services Fund and Jackson County Children Service Fund to focus on helping children recover from trauma and regulate emotion and behavioral problems.
“SBIS’s resiliency program provides three services,” Taylor Freburg, district manager of “High Seas” Synergy Services School-Based Programs, said. “Synergy provides individual prevention, small-group therapy and a resiliency curriculum.”
