EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – City Finance Department Director Vonda Floyd has a clearer sense of what Orion will provide in managing the city’s golf course, she told city leaders during a late-January work session. The City Council during a Jan. 14 special meeting approved contracting Orion to manage the course. Orion began overseeing the facility Monday. Floyd said she and company founder Shane T. Gardner discussed “what they were going to be providing to us and just kind of the logistics of the relay of financial expenditures.” The two cleared up many of those details and Gardner “was very receptive” to working with her, she said. “(He) told me just to contact him directly or email him, so we’ve got that worked out, too,” Floyd said.
