Owen Lumber hosts classic car show

After the success of a recent car show, organizers are looking at making it an annual event. Each year, on deck sale weekend, Owen Lumber typically serves lunch to help bring in potential customers. This year, Assistant Manager Jason Covey suggested the idea of a classic car show to Store Manager David Adams, who had bought himself a gray 1968 Camaro Rally Sport. “Jason didn’t know anyone with classic cars, but one guy who worked on my car is with The Roosters Car Club in Liberty and that’s how we started putting the show together,” Adams stated. In addition to the show, a food truck provided lunch and vendors were on site providing information about their products. There were 38 contestants in the show and many residents stopped by to talk to the car owners. Car owners shared stories of how they obtained their vehicles and why they wanted them.
