Plane crash victims identified
A California couple has been identified as the victims of a fatal plane crash near Mosby that left a Cessna C340 engulfed in flames in a Clay County field.The Clay County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the victims as Mark W. Spelts, 76; and Victoria “Vickie” A. Spelts, 75, of Chico, Calif. The crash happened Aug. 27 just north of the Midwest National Air Center near Mosby.Dispatchers received a call shortly before noon reporting heavy smoke near Northeast 140th Street and Rhodus Road. Deputies arrived to find the twin-engine aircraft fully engulfed in flames in a soybean field.
