Dan Meers talks about an unusual career. As expected. After all, he is a hall of famer. Oh, not the one in Canton, Ohio, where Patrick Mahomes II and Travis Kelce will be enshrined someday. He is in the little one in Whiting, Indiana: the Mascot Hall of Fame. Meers’ alter ego is the Kansas City Chiefs’ KC Wolf, bringing to mind the 2020 Super Bowl and fur flying. But that is not Meers’ focus as he enters First Baptist Church. Sure, he talks about the obvious, but he goes above and beyond. Way beyond. All the way to heaven. At the Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, as the first NFL mascot to enter the hall of fame, Meers shines the spotlight on God. First Baptist Church Senior Pastor William Isaacson introduces Meers to about 75 people at the breakfast as a longtime friend from Clay County’s Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
