Excelsior man pleads guilty to rape

September 28, 2018—Caldwell County court officials recently sentenced an Excelsior Springs man after he pleaded guilty to rape in the second degree.

Jordan W. Seller pleaded guilty to the Class D felony in the courtroom of Judge Thomas Chapman. Seller appeared in custody and with counsel on Sept. 7.

According to an Affidavit of Probable Cause from Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Seller accompanied the 15-year-old victim to a residence in Polo after a football game. The incident occurred sometime during the night when the victim woke up with Seller having sexual intercourse with her without her permission. Seller was 20-years-old at the time.

Chapman sentenced Seller to six years in Missouri Department of Corrections and remains in custody at Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in St. Joseph.
