Excelsior Springs Police Blotter (July 31 – August 6)

Tuesday, July 31

12:03 a.m., 1000 block of Rowell St., James Wood, WM, 40, was issued citations for turn signal, expired operator’s license and resist arrest. He was later released on the charges due to medical problems.

12:52 p.m., 1100 block of St. Louis Ave., An officer contacted juveniles who were playing with a BB gun. They were counseled and an adult was contacted.

2:10 p.m., 900 block of Dorothy St., The juvenile was located.

2:39 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Lane, Shelly Peak, WF, 42, was arrested for shoplifting. She was booked and released with a court date.

5:17 p.m., 400 block of E. Broadway Ave., Officers responded to the area on a report of a domestic assault in progress. The parties involved could not be located.

7:09 p.m., 2000 block of W. Jesse James Road, Patrick S. Stodgel, WM, 41, was arrested on a felony Calhoun County, Florida warrant for sexual battery on a victim less than 12 years of age with bond denied. He was transported to Clay County Detention Center to await extradition to Florida.

9:55 p.m., 2200 block of Chanticleer Ave., Officers responded on a disturbance in the area. Officers contacted a WM, 16, who was detained for resisting arrest and later transported to the Clay County Juvenile Center.

 

Wednesday, August 1

9:44 a.m., 100 block of Southside Court, A WM, 35, was placed on a 24-hour hold for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment.

11:25 a.m., Crescent Avenue and St. Louis Avenue, An officer counseled juveniles who were riding a dirt bike and lawn mower on the street.

5:33 p.m., 2200 Patsy Lane, Alana E. Bedell, WF, 17, was arrested for stealing and released on her own recognizance with a court date.

8:30 p.m., 200 block of N. Kansas City Ave., Officers responded to the residence on a report of a disturbance in progress. One party was transported to the hospital for injuries. Information was obtained for a report.

9:10 p.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave., Allen L. Stonebraker, WM, 59, was arrested on two Excelsior Springs warrants for failure to appear for open liquor and resisting arrest and failure to appear for fail to signal, improper passing, and fail to yield to emergency vehicle with total bond of $1,000 cash-only.

 

Thursday, August 2

9:26 a.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave., Joshua Duncan, WM, 19, was arrested on a local warrant for failure to appear to show cause why fines had not been paid. His bond was set at $438.50 cash-only plus $438.50 cash for fines. He was booked and incarcerated.

11:19 a.m., 800 block of St. Louis Ave., Officers responded on a report of a domestic disturbance. Contact was made with one party who denied that there had been any problem.

12:36 p.m., Milwaukee Avenue and Michelle, Jesse Spence, WM, 39, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, open liquor, defective equipment and detoxification. His bond was set at $750. He was booked and incarcerated. Heather Wayman, WF, 36, was arrested on a local warrant for failure to appear for driving while suspended. Her bond was set at $500 cash-only. She was booked and incarcerated.

2:49 p.m., 700 block of Northwind Drive, Officers responded on a report of a domestic assault. No one wanted to assist in prosecution.

3:32 p.m., 600 block of Dunbar Ave., Officer responded on a report of a leaving the scene accident when a vehicle struck a parked vehicle and did not stop.

3:56 p.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave., Michelle M. Meadows, WF, 48, was arrested on a local warrant for fail to appear for DWI, possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt, no insurance, fail to keep right and driving too slowly. Her bond was set at $2,500 cash-only.

9:12 p.m., 300 block of Old Orchard Ave., An officer responded to a report of a suspicious party seen outside a residence. It was determined a leaving-the-scene accident had occurred involving a vehicle parked at the residence.

 

Friday, August 3

1:41 p.m., Golf Hill and Old Time Drive, Officer attempted to stop an unknown vehicle in the area, which fled the area and was last seen headed eastbound on 10 Highway.

10:00 a.m., 300 block of S. Kansas City Ave., Officers responded with fire on a report of an odor of gas. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

1:05 p.m., 300 block of S. Main St., Heather R. Wayman, WF, 36, was arrested on a Caldwell County warrant for assault with a bond of $1,000. She was booked and later released to Caldwell County.

1:55 p.m., 400 block of Garland Ave., An officer spoke with a party regarding a burglary. Information was taken for a report.

3:09 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Lane, Tiffany R. Roberts, WF, 34, was arrested for stealing, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing. She was booked and has a bond of $1,350. A WF, 34, was placed on a 24-hour investigative hold for possession of a controlled substance.

7:38 p.m., 150 block Crown Hill Road, A WM, 36, was arrested and placed on a 24-hour investigative hold for possession of controlled substance and no license plates.

 

Saturday, August 4

3:01 a.m., 1200 block of Michelle Drive, Officer made contact with a WM, 17, and WM, 41, in reference to a domestic assault. Both parties agreed to stop for the night and nothing else was requested at this time.

3:26 a.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave., Carrie Key, WF, 45, was arrested on an Excelsior Springs fail to appear warrant with a total bond of $1,500 cash. She was incarcerated pending payment of bond.

8:48 a.m., 500 block of Dunbar Ave., An officer responded to a report of vandalism. Information was obtained for report.

9:43 a.m., 1200 block of N. Jesse James Road, An officer responded to a report of found drugs. It was confiscated and destroyed at police headquarters.

1:36 p.m., 400 block of South St., An officer recovered a found wallet. The officer will be attempting to contact the owner.

2:07 p.m., 400 block of South St., An officer responded to a report of vandalism. Information was obtained for a report.

5:22 p.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave., Monica M. Watson, WF, 22, was arrested on a local warrant for fail to appear for stealing. Her bond was set at $500 cash-only.

5:44 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Lane, An officer responded to a report of a shoplifting that had occurred previously. Information was obtained for a report and the investigation continues.

 

Sunday, August 5

5:43 a.m., Isley Boulevard and Linda Lane, Officers responded to the area on a report of a traffic accident. It was determined to be outside of the city limits. Officers remained on scene until Ray County deputies arrived.

12:20 p.m., 700 block of Park Ave., Officers responded to a report of a possible missing adult. The party was located and was safe.

12:43 p.m., 1700 block of Briarwood Lane, Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. A WM, 29, was arrested and placed on a 24-hour investigative hold for domestic assault.

 

Monday, August 6

12:06 a.m., 400 block of N. Titus Ave., Betty J. Howard, WF, 47, was arrested on an Excelsior Springs warrant for failure to appear for improper turn with bond of $150 cash-only. Tristan A. Mandl, WM, 29, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked and released on his own recognizance with a court date.

1:23 a.m., 300 block of Foley St., Officers responded to the area on a report of a disturbance. All parties involved were contacted and information was obtained for a report.

1:41 a.m., 200 block of Kibler Road, Officers responded to the residence on a report of burglary. Information was taken for a report.

7:25 a.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave., Jerry Lewis, BM, 62, was arrested for failure to appear for domestic assault. His bond was set at $500 cash-only. He was booked and incarcerated.

10:53 a.m., 1900 block of W. Jesse James Road, An officer took a report of an item stolen from a vehicle while it was impounded.

11:20 a.m., 100 block of South St., Timmy Claus, WM, 57, and Estella Morrison, WF, 87, were involved in a minor accident.

12:43 p.m., 700 block of Northwind Drive, Officer’s responded on a report of a party out of control. It was determined that the family disturbance was verbal only and no one wanted any action taken.

2:32 p.m., 70 block of Stratton St., Officers contacted parties involved in a verbal disturbance. No one wanted any action taken.

7:21 p.m., 400 block of Regent Ave., Clayton R. Halsted, WM, 44, was arrested on a local warrant for failure to appear for no valid license and two counts of vandalism. He was booked and released with a new court date. Clayton R. Halsted, WM, 44, was arrested on a Clay County warrant for failure to appear for trespassing with a bond of $1,000. Custody was later given to Clay County.

8:25 p.m., 69 Highway and Italian Way, An officer recovered a found license plate. The officer will attempt to return it to the owner.

10:27 p.m., 2200 block of Lynn Road, Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Information was taken for a report.
