Tuesday, December 26

4:24 a.m., 2300 block of Vintage Ct.—Officer responded to Applebee’s on a burglary alarm. The building was secure and nothing further was requested.

6:54 a.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—A WF, 54, reported items stolen from her purse while she was shopping. It was later determined that the cards had fallen out of her purse onto the floorboard of her car. Report not needed.

7:25 a.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Officer took a stealing report from Walmart.

9:17 a.m., 2000 block of W. Jesse James Rd.— Joseph Abela, BM, 25, was arrested for providing false information and detoxification. There was no bond.

9:38 a.m., 800 block of Dunbar Ave.—Johnathon Raw, WM, 32, was involved in an accident.

10:33 a.m., 300 block of S. Main St.—Joseph Abela, WM, 25, was arrested on a Gladstone warrant for trespassing. His bond was set at $1,000 cash-only. He was booked and incarcerated pending the arrival of Gladstone for extradition.

12:14 p.m., Prospect and Orrick Rd.—An officer responded to check on a vehicle off of the roadway in a wooded area. The vehicle was not occupied and it appeared to have slid off the street earlier. The vehicle was tagged to indicate it had been checked.

12:24 p.m., Woods Ave. and Kearney Rd.—Megan Coursen, WF, 30, was involved in an accident. All parties refused treatment at the scene.

12:31 p.m., Woods Ave. and Kearney Rd.—Courtney Boucher, WF, was involved in a minor accident.

1:56 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Paige Stirnaman, WF, 22, was arrested for shoplifting. She was booked in and released on her own recognizance with a court date.

4:30 p.m., 700 block of Northwind Dr.—Officers responded with the fire department for a report of a structure fire. Officers stood by until the fire department secured the scene.

5:19 p.m., 900 block of Martin Ave.—Officers responded to a 911 hang up call with yelling in the background. It was a verbal argument. The parties were advised of their options.

5:50 p.m., 300 block of S. Main St.— An officer responded to a walk-in saying that the father of her children refused to give her children back. The father agreed to return the children to her tomorrow.

7:19 p.m., 24000 block of NE. 69 Hwy.—Officers responded to a report of a semi-truck in the ditch. There were no injuries.

7:34 p.m., N. Jesse James Rd. and Miller Ave.—An officer responded to a report of a stalled vehicle blocking both lanes of traffic. The vehicle was gone prior to the officers’ arrival.

9:23 p.m., 700 block of S. Marietta St.—David Thornton, WM, 63, was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle. He was booked in and placed on a 24-hour investigation hold.

 

Wednesday, December 27

8:17 a.m., Marietta St. and Garland Ave.—An officer responded to the area to verify that a tree was pulling power/utility lines down. The appropriate company was notified.

8:41 a.m., Vintage Dr. and McCleary Rd.—An officer placed a 72-hour tow sticker on a vehicle.

8:58 a.m., 100 block of Dunbar Ave.—An officer checked on a vehicle parked at the vacant building.

10:08 a.m., 400 block of St. Louis Ave.—An officer responded with the ambulance on a medical call.

10:32 a.m., 69 Hwy. and 92 Hwy.—An officer was advised of a vehicle that had reportedly been driving carelessly. No violations were observed.

11:12 a.m., 2000 block of W. Jesse James Rd.—Officers responded on a report of the odor of marijuana coming from a residence. Contact was made with the resident and the manager was notified of the situation.

11:38 a.m., 200 block of May St.—An officer responded on a request to standby while Clay County Children’s Division conducted an investigation.

3:06 p.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave.—Bridgette Pierce, WF, 29, was arrested on a local warrant for driving while suspended and no proof of insurance. Her bond was set at $500 cash only. David Crouse Sr. WM, 44, was arrested on an Independence warrant for failure to appear for no seat belt, with a bond of $200. He was transported to Liberty and released to an Independence officer. Kiersten Mendiola, WF, 24, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked in and released on her own recognizance with a court date.

3:22 p.m., 400 block of St. Louis Ave.—An officer responded to speak with a party regarding a civil issue with a vehicle’s title. She was advised of her options.

3:42 p.m., 100 block of N. Francis St.—An officer responded to take a report for vandalism to a residence.

4:48 p.m., 1300 block of Muriel Ln.—Animal Control Officer responded to check the welfare of a canine. It was determined the canine did not have proper shelter. The owner agreed to bring the canine inside.

5:55 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Officer unlocked a vehicle for a party.

7:43 p.m., 500 block of Tiger Dr.—Officers responded to the Community Center on a report of parties being disruptive and using inappropriate language towards staff and other members. The parties were counseled and agreed to leave without incident.

8:09 p.m., 2000 W. Jesse James Rd.—Matthew D. Lynn, WM, 20, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and caretaker neglect. He was booked and released with a court date.

8:30 p.m., 300 block of May St.—Officer responded to lobby of Headquarters to speak with a party regarding an assault that had occurred earlier. Information was obtained for a report.

8:39 p.m., Augustus Dr. and N. Jesse James Rd.—Officer responded to a report of a large box and debris in the roadway. The roadway was clear upon officer’s arrival.

9:20 p.m., 100 block of Collette St.—Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in progress. The parties had separated prior to officers’ arrival. They advised it was verbal only and were advised of their options.

9:22 p.m., 500 block of S. Kansas City Ave—Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in progress with property damage. The parties advised it was verbal only and the damage was caused by a resident. The parties were advised of their options.

 

Thursday, December 28

2:22 a.m., 1200 block of Orrick Rd.—Officer responded to the area on a report from the resident that someone had rang the doorbell. Nobody was located. Nothing further was requested.

8:27 a.m., 700 block of Isley Blvd.— Officers responded on a report of a burglary in progress. Contact was made with several parties nearby who matched the description given by the witness. Information was obtained for a report and the investigation continues. Adrienne Spor, WF, 34, was arrested on a local failure to appear warrant for no insurance. She was booked in and issued a cash only bond of $300.

11:41 a.m., 700 block of Isley Blvd.—An officer provided a vehicle unlock.

12:59 p.m., 1000 block of Rowell Ave.—Todd Hall, WM, 43, was arrested on a Clay County warrant for probation violation with no bond. He was transported to Mosby and released to a Clay County Deputy.

2:56 p.m., 1100 block of Frontier St.—An officer responded to recover drugs and paraphernalia that were found while doing repairs. The items were disposed of at Headquarters.

3:05 p.m., 100 block of S. Kansas City Ave.— Animal Control Officer responded to check the welfare of a canine.

3:25 p.m., 2000 block of Kimberly Dr.—Animal Control Officer responded to check the welfare of canines. The canines were fine and the owner was counseled about nuisance overnight barking.

6:01 p.m., 200 block of Waller Ave.—Officer responded with the fire department on a report of something burning in a driveway. A male party was located burning boxes in his driveway. The fire was put out and he was advised of the city ordinance.

9:26 p.m., 69 Hwy. and S. McCleary Rd.—Officers responded on a report of a careless driver. The vehicle was not located.

9:51 p.m., 100 block of Crown Hill Rd.—Officers responded on a report of a vehicle accident in the parking lot of the business. The parties exchanged information no report needed. A report was requested on a WM, 27, for driving while suspended.

10:34 p.m., 100 block Juniper St.—Officers responded a request from Richmond PD to check a residence for a runaway juvenile. She was not located.

11:53 p.m., 400 St. Louis Ave.—Officers responded on a business alarm. The building was checked and was secure.

 

Friday, December 29

12:55 a.m., 100 block of Melwood St.—Officer responded to the residence with EMS on a medical alarm. It was determined to be accidental and nothing further was requested.

1:17 a.m., 100 block of Sherri Ln.—Officer responded to the area on a barking dog complaint. The dog was located with its owner who was intoxicated and laying in his driveway. Both the dog and the owner were returned to the home and released to a sober party.

3:24 a.m., 600 block of S. Kansas City Ave.—Officers responded to the area on a report of a vehicle in the ditch. ESFD responded to extricate the patient and transport to the hospital for injuries. The driver, a WM, 34, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, careless and imprudent driving, and driving while intoxicated.

8:59 a.m., 200 block E. Broadway Ave.—An officer provided an escort for finance.

9:44 a.m., 200 block of E. Excelsior St.—An officer responded on a request for a welfare check. Contact was made, the party was fine.

9:45 a.m., 300 S. Main St.—An officer responded to the station to do fingerprints for a Post Office employee.

11:00 a.m., 1700 block of Rainbow Blvd.—An officer responded to unlock a vehicle.

12:52 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Derek Hoskins, BM, 21, and Chandra Spero were involved in a minor traffic accident, with no injuries. A report was taken.

1:20 p.m., 400 block of Benton Ave.— Officers responded to a report of a burglary not in progress. The party was advised of her options.

1:39 p.m., 200 block of S. McCleary Rd.-Lisa Covey, WF, 36, Anthony Covey, WM, 36, and Debra Dennis, WF, 56, were involved in a minor traffic accident with no major injuries. A report was taken.

4:06 p.m., Linn Ave. and Dunbar Ave.—Officer assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle.

4:58 p.m., 69 Hwy. and Wornall Rd.—Natalie S. Fugate, WF, 17, and Daniel P. Jesse, WM, 52, were involved in a vehicle accident with minor injuries. Parties were evaluated by EMS at the scene. Information was obtained for a report.

9:45 p.m., 1300 block of Tracy Ave.—Officer spoke with a party regarding harassing and threatening letters received. The party was advised of his options.

 

Saturday, December 30

3:34 a.m., 600 lock of S. Kansas City Ave.—Officers responded on a business alarm. The building was checked and was secure.

8:03 a.m, 1000 block of Southwind Dr.—Officers responded with the fire department on a residential structure fire. Officer remained until no longer needed.

9:06 a.m., 100 block of Melanie Ln.—Officers responded with the ambulance on a report of a male not breathing. Officer remained until no longer needed. Information for a report was obtained.

9:50 a.m., 500 block of Elms Blvd.—Officers responded on an alarm call. They waited for a keyholder until they could do a walk through.

11:12 a.m., 200 block of Miller Ave.—Officer responded on a report of a dog being left out in the cold. The dogs had a door where they could get into the garage.

11:03 a.m., 1600 block of Kearney Rd.—A WF, 34, was detained for 24-hour hold for shoplifting.

12:59 p.m., 300 block of S. Main St.—Officer responded to the station to recover a found wallet.

1:49 p.m., 200 block of N. Kansas City Ave.—Officers responded on a report of a domestic assault. A WM, 23, was detained for 24-hour hold.

2:37 p.m., NE 152nd and Salem Rd.—Officers responded on a request from Ray County to check the area for a stolen vehicle. Nothing was found.

3:58 p.m., 2200 block of Arbor Ln.—Officers responded with the ambulance on a report of a non-responsive party having a seizure. Officers remained until no longer needed.

5:05 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Officers obtained information for a report for stealing that occurred earlier.

6:36 p.m., 500 block of St. Louis Ave.—Officers responded on a suspicious party looking into vehicle. He was contacted and was told to move along.

8:10 p.m., 200 block of Veterans Memorial Dr.—Officers responded on a request from Ray County to check for a missing juvenile. The juvenile was not located.

8:33 p.m., 2000 block of W. Jesse James Rd.— Officers responded with ambulance on a report of an injured party and another party that was intoxicated making homicidal threats. Both parties were transported with police escort.

9:00 p.m., 800 block of St. Louis Ave.—Edgar Wrinkle, WM, was arrested on two Kansas City warrants with a bond of $1200. He was booked and waiting for extradition.

9:05 p.m., 300 block of E. Excelsior St.—Officer responded to check welfare of a juvenile. The juvenile was located and was fine.

10:48 p.m., 700 block of St. Louis Ave.—Officers responded with the fire department on a fire alarm at Job Corps. It was a malfunction due to the cold weather.

 

Sunday, December 31

1:48 a.m., 900 block of Williams St.—Officers responded on a report that a white truck had struck a vehicle and left the area. Information for a report was obtained.

10:10 a.m., 100 block of Richmond St.—Officers responded to a report of an aggressive dog. They were unable to trap the dog; a note was left for animal control.

11:50 a.m., Dorothy St. and Curran Ave.—An officer responded to a report of a dog being left in the cold with no shelter. Nothing was found.

3:23 p.m., 200 block of Carla St.—Officers responded with medical units for a female party having chest pains. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

4:04 p.m., 500 block of St. Louis Ave.—Officers responded to a report of a party refusing to leave the business. The party was contacted and agreed to call for a ride.

4:59 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—Noe M. Hale, WM, 18, was arrested for stealing. He was booked and released with a court date.

6:15 p.m., 2000 block of W. Jesse James Rd.—Officer responded to a report of the odor of marijuana in the building. A source for the odor was not located.

6:28 p.m., 500 block Linn Ave.—Officer unlocked a vehicle for a party.

6:54 p.m., 200 block of Waller Ave.—Officer responded to speak with parties regarding a child custody issue. The parties were advised of their options.

7:27 p.m., 500 block of S. Kansas City Ave.—Officer spoke with parties having a disagreement over child safety seat requirements. The parties were advised of the requirements.

7:45 p.m., 700 block of Tiger Dr.—Officer responded to a complaint regarding the odor of marijuana. A source could not be confirmed; parties were counseled.

9:23 p.m., Old Orchard Ave. and Kearney Rd.—Antonio F. Allen, BM, 20, was arrested on a Clay County warrant for fail to appear for no license plates and no insurance with $500 cash only bond. He was booked in to await extradition by Clay County.

10:22 p.m., 100 block of W. Broadway Ave.—Officers responded to the area with EMS on a report that an intoxicated male party had fallen and hit his head. The party was evaluated by EMS and signed a refusal. Nothing further was requested.

10:56 p.m., 200 block of E. Broadway Ave.—Rebecca A Server, WF, 25, was arrested on a local fail to appear warrant for unpaid fines of $179.50. She was also charged with driving while suspended, no tail lamps, no insurance and false information with bond of $650. She was booked and incarcerated with a total bond of $829.50.

11:20 p.m., 500 block of Elms Blvd.—Officers responded to a report of a disoriented party walking in the area. The party was determined to be intoxicated and unable to get home to Kansas. The party was given a courtesy ride to Monterey Hotel for the night.

11:37 p.m., N. Jesse James Rd. and Rowell— Timothy E. Beasley, WM, 20, Joely C. Hicks, WF, 19, and Dakota C. Peel, WM, 20, were detained on a traffic stop for minor in possession of alcohol. They were issued citations and released at the scene to a responsible driver.

 

Monday, January 1, 2018

12:43 a.m., 500 block of Prospect St.—Officer responded to a report of fireworks thrown at a residence. The resident was advised of his options. Extra patrols were requested.

5:04 a.m., 1700 block of W. Jesse James Rd.—Officers responded to the Bank of America ATM on a burglary alarm. The ATM was secure and nothing further was requested.

5:37 a.m., 1000 block of Isley Blvd.—Officers responded to Bee Line to check the welfare of the clerk, as the alarm company had received a notification the store was late to open. The business was closed and a sign indicated the store does not open until 7 a.m.

8:16 a.m., 1100 block of 92 Hwy.—An officer checked on an unsecured storage unit. The unit was vacant.

8:40 a.m., 400 block Concourse Ave.—An officer placed a 72-hour tow sticker on an abandoned vehicle which had no license plates.

11:58 a.m., 100 South St.—An officer responded to assist a party who was locked out of her vehicle. The vehicle was not locked.

1:49 p.m., 700 block of Isley Blvd.—A WM, 24, was placed on a 24 hour hold for burglary.

2:00 p.m., 500 block of Tiger Dr.—Officers responded with medics to a report of two males who had inhaled chlorine. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

2:26 p.m., 2200 block of Patsy Ln.—An officer responded to a report of a fraudulent return at Walmart. A report was taken.

5:04 p.m., 100 block of W. Jesse James Rd.—Officers responded to a report of a burglary alarm. The building was secure.

7:58 p.m., Old Orchard Ave. and Kearney Rd.— Austin Hatch, WM, 22, was arrested and charged with failure to yield, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DWI-drug.

8:12 p.m., Ley St. and Ley Cir.—Officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was having car problems.

9:04 p.m., 400 block of Concourse Ave.—Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance outside. The argument was verbal only.
