Polo man evades police, later arrested

November 24, 2017 – Police attempted to arrest a Polo man on Friday, Nov. 17, resulting in a foot chase and search.

On Friday, Nov. 17, at 4:58 p.m., an officer with Excelsior Springs Police Department attempted to arrest Jacob P. Dudley, 18, of Polo, in the Y-Shopping Center parking lot for outstanding felony warrants. According to the police report, Dudley resisted arrest and fled from the officer on foot. Police searched the area, but Dudley was not located.

A couple hours later, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Dudley was arrested after being involved in a family disturbance in the Walmart parking lot, located on the 2200 block of Patsy Lane.

In a statement from Lt. Larry Tarrant, ESPD Support Services Division Commander, it was found that the disturbance occurred when one family member struck another family member’s vehicle.

In the investigation that followed, Nicole M. Oquin,  40, a driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident, was also arrested.

Dudley was arrested for resisting arrest, and for the felony warrants pending against him.

Oquin was arrested for driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia with a bond of $650.

Additional charges are pending in this case.
