PRIMARY ELECTIONS AUG. 4
RICHMOND – All of the county-level Aug. 4 primary races in Ray County are uncontested; there is primary competition for some Clay County offices; rivals are plentiful for statewide and General Assembly seats; and voters statewide will decide a proposed Missouri Constitutional amendment to expand Medicaid.
CLAY COUNTY OFFICES
Republican voters in Excelsior Springs can cast ballots in the contested clerk, assessor, treasurer and eastern commissioner races.
There is competition among Democrats in one race, western commissioner, in the county primaries, but Excelsior Springs residents do not vote in that race. All county candidates are:
• Eastern commissioner, Democrat, Dustin Bell, and Republicans, Megan Thompson, Doug Eric and Dan Troutz;
• Western commissioner, Democrats Jon Carpenter and Cathy Rinehart, and Republicans Josiah Bechtold, Barry McCullough, Rodney Phillips and Lydia McEvoy;r
