Rights-of-way relinquished in Lookout Heights

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The city has relinquished rights-of-way in Lookout Heights. The City Council passed two ordinances vacating rights-of-way in the subdivision Dec. 6. The first ordinance, revamping an earlier one, vacated rights-of-way bordering 15 lots on Crescent, two lots on Hillcrest and eights lots on Lake. The second ordinance vacated rights-of-way for additional lots on Hillcrest and two more on Crescent. Council approval followed a Nov. 29 public hearing held by the Planning and Zoning Commission, which endorsed relinquishing the rights of way “in the city’s best interests and to promote the public health, safety and welfare,” the ordinance states. City documents show Bart and Lacy Butler had submitted a petition for relinquishing the rights-of-way, leading to the hearing.
