School district, hospital, city enter into agreement

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The City Council has approved a joint venture with the Excelsior Springs School District and Excelsior Springs Hospital. The agreement involves using the community center. The city will receive monthly payments of $3,000 in exchange for community center memberships for hospital workers. In turn, the hospital will supply the community center with “a qualified and certified wellness program coordinator.” The city will receive $5 for every school district employee, retired employee and family member who joins the community center. Other conditions include the city matching ESSD’s contributions, provided there are at least 125 sign-ups. “This plan will include, next year, all of Excelsior Springs medical center employees – and the school … (district) hopes to do the same thing in a future year,” center Director Jesse Hall said. “But at this time, they will pay a portion of (the center membership fee), and then, we will … match that portion.” Hall thanked those involved…
