Sheriff’s office initiative encourages safety without citations
Clay County patrol deputies are swapping citations for kindness through a new initiative aimed at building trust while keeping roads safer.The “No Ticket, Let’s Fix It” program launched in early July, giving deputies a chance to hand drivers a $10 gift card to a local auto parts store instead of a warning or citation for minor equipment violations such as broken headlights or taillights.
