Swope clinic opens at the Early Childcare Center
Providing care and support, the Early Childcare Center’s Swope Health KidsCARE clinic opens its doors to students 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
The clinic is open to Excelsior Springs school district students and their siblings. The long-term goal for the clinic will be to serve as an access point for any child within the community, according to Swope Chief Health Officer Naiomi Jamal.
“The Swope Clinic is adopting a phased approach with their care and will introduce dental, pediatrics and optometry by the end of the year,” said Jamal.
The services to be offered at the clinic include:
• Dental exams and treatment
• Dental fluoride treatments and cleanings
• Full eye exams
• Acute care for minor conditions
• Referrals to specialists
• Comprehensive and diagnostic screenings
• Routine child immunizations
• Hearing and vision screenings
• Lead risk assessments
• Blood lead testing
• Developmental screenings and surveillance
