The new year brings challenges and opportunities for change, and Senior Life Solutions Program Director Ethan Kent described practical tips that people can use in the new year to create healthy habits. Kent explained that heading into 2024, people can be kind to their bodies, minds, and souls by filling their cups, and he reminds people that they cannot pour from an empty glass. Over the holiday season, people may experience different thoughts and feelings and engage in behaviors that exhibit sadness and loneliness or even relief after holiday celebrations. Kent recommends people take time for themselves and work on developing new habits. Different ways of taking time for oneself include stopping and listening to personal needs and developing healthier habits for the New Year. “New habits can bring peace, joy and happiness,” Kent said.
