EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Parks and Recreation Board has two new members. On May 16 at the Hall of Waters, the City Council approved Mayor Sharon Powell’s appointments of Sherri Branson-Hurt and retired Excelsior Springs High School coach Terri Irons to the board. Per City Manager Molly McGovern’s May 10 memo to city leaders, Hurt and Irons will serve three-year terms. Irons and Hurt replace Christy Marker and Susan McAuliffe, “who have termed out,” Powell said. The council also approved Powell’s reappointment of Scott Buckman through May 2025.
