Update: ESPD officers have re-opened the intersection of Crown Hill and Kearney Roads. Ameren staff members have restored power to all residents.

Breaking: According to Excelsior Springs Fire Department staff, a car traveling Northbound on Corum Road at approximately 80 miles-per-hour crashed into an utility pole located near Price Chopper, knocking out power to a large portion of Excelsior Springs.

The Excelsior Springs Police Department closed the intersection at Crown Hill and Kearney Roads as Ameren staff work to restore power. ESPD urges residents to avoid the area.

As of 2 p.m., Ameren staff estimate power will be restored in approximately an hour.
