Virus requires all-virtual high school classes for now

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – High school classes are all-virtual through Nov. 30. Principal Christen Everett stated in an email Nov. 5 that going all-virtual became necessary because the Excelsior Springs School District had learned that day of confirmed COVID-19 cases at the school among “additional individuals.” Everett also stated those who had tested positive had been at school Nov. 3 and at extracurricular events Nov. 5. “We are completing the contact tracing now, and any individuals that are identified as having direct contact with the infected individuals will be contacted directly,” she wrote. When interviewed Nov. 6 by phone, Deputy Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson did not have a total of the additional cases.
