EXCELSIOR SPRINGS - The Chamber of Commerce announced it is moving Waterfest to later in the year to distance it from the current COVID-19 quarantine.

Originally slated for late in June, this year's Waterfest will now be held Aug. 28-29, 2020, according to Chamber Director Elaina Lamley.

"Due to the current situation regarding COVID-19 and not knowing the immediate future of guidelines for social distancing, to be safe we decided to move Waterfest for the 2020 season," Lamley said.

The festival will feature the same activities as year's past, including two stages of live music, the Opal Wapoo Gravel Grinder bike race, a parade, the Little Mister and Miss Waterfest contest and more.
