Weelinks creates pathway for young golfers
Young children in Excelsior Springs will now have the opportunity to learn golf in an environment designed to remove pressure, frustration and intimidation that often comes with trying the sport for the first time.
The Excelsior Springs Golf Course recently introduced Weelinks, a free five-hole junior golf course open Sundays from 2 to 7 p.m. for children ages eight and under. Designed specifically for beginners, the course uses shorter holes, oversized club heads and racquet balls to help young players learn the game in a more relaxed and approachable environment while building confidence before transitioning to a traditional golf course.
Head Golf Professional Austin Hardison explained the course was designed to create a beginner- friendly environment where young children can learn the basics of the game at their own pace.
