If you were one who stepped into the gym at Excelsior Springs High School to watch a volleyball match from 2007- 2011, Lanie Hurt was a student-athlete who you saw flying around gym. Hurt was selected to the all-conference team all four years, garnering a secondteam honor her freshman year and firstteam honors the next three years. She added a second-team all-district selection her freshman and sophomore years and first-team her junior and senior years. She earned all-state honorable mention her junior year and first-team all-state selection her senior year. She was a part of two district championship teams.
