Workshop focuses on helping elderly address chronic disease

JEFFERSON CITY – The Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions and Living a Health Life with Diabetes workshop series is designed to assist participants in maintaining quality of life, University of Missouri Extension information states. The workshops are designed to help people gain self-confidence in their ability to control their symptoms and learn how their health problems affect their lives. About 80% of older adults have at least one chronic disease, and 68% have at least two, extension information states. The free workshop information targets those people. Each participant will receive the book “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions” and a relaxation CD. Classes are open to anyone who deals with chronic conditions or is a caregiver for someone with chronic conditions. Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions classes will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, and run through Wednesday, Nov. 11. The program consists of an “Intro to Online Programs”…
